there's so much right with this image... and so much wrong. let me try to help a little... the GOOD: i love that you're trying comicbook type material. there's not nearly enough of that done with poser. also, i see a little humor with "tom ninja", and that's cool. the BAD: the lighting is just terrible. i don't mean that in a bad way, i just mean that it's so flat and non-dynamic, it doesn't do justice to your ideas. try some different lighting, or props, or at least a background. immerse us in realism :) the UGLY: ug... those balloons... so square... must... reletter... comic... i'm really looking forward to seeing more. in fact i wish you'd post your pages in the forum so i don't just happen by them. good luck!!

I agree, traditional ellipsoid speech balloons would look much better. If you have Illustrator available, you might be interested in my tutorial on making speech balloons in Illustrator.
