Description
Well, it's been done before, and no doubt will be again.
This was 6 months work off and on, so I hope you'll be kind. This is also the reason I've not posted much lately.
Thanks to Zhann for her challenge texture #1 used on the pillars. The vases are from 3dCafe. Thanks also to all the M.C. Escher sites I visited and stole the originals from...and respect to the man himself for being a true original. It's not absolutely perfect or accurate, but I may post another version later to correct the worst errors.
C&Cs welcome.

Hey, an Escher - Picture! He's my favourite painter and you did excellent work here. Sometimes I wonder what kind of pictures he would have created if he would have had a pc g

I think this is incredible. I've tried to do it in Bryce and had to give up and stick to "escher esque". I'd love to know how you did this. Well done.

I like it! My only critique would be to ditch the flat white texture for something a little more interesting - stucco, stone, etc. Otherwise, wonderful!

Oh, I love it! This is a fable!!! Excellent work!
frogdot
Bravo! Excellent modeling and execution

Artistically this is a very good image.Excellent on all the textures. The concept of this structure is done very well. The architecural aspect of it however needs some planning.A hint: Stairs are on average a 7 inch rise per tread. and Handrails are 42 and above inches.Your scaling would make the railings aprrx. 20 to 25 inches. The bottom stair would be a very bad tripping hazard and never pass any building codes.I'd l;ove to see this model done to a more realistic scale.

Nicely done! As a long time Escher fan, I think you've done it justice!

Rebuilding Escher's work in Bryce in not the easiest task you could have chosen, but you did an excellent job, my compliments.

Herculean task and wonderfully accomplished. I like how the hills in the back conform to steps. (always think of steps with Escher I guess)
vasquez
great attempt! just curious to see the wireframe
ShadowWind
Excellent work! I've tried this in Vue and wasn't easy and I honestly never got it to look right...
