Description

I love Philip Pullman's trilogy about Lyra Belacqua. This is my version of a scene from Book 1, "The Golden Compass," when Lyra rides Iorek Byrneson, the polar bear. "As if she weighed nothing at all, he turned and loped away up toward the ridge and into the low trees. It took some time before she was used to the movement, but then she felt a wild exhilaration. She was riding a bear!" This is Zrincx's Nanna with Mada's Elf Magic and Grace Lion Hair.

Exquisite illustration, Stephanie! You did an excellent job placing Zrincx's Nanna on the polar bear. She has that look of not being quite sure how the polar bears going to eccept the ride! You are bringing the story to life! Bravo!

Nice image, but I somehow always pictured Iorek as being a lot bigger than that! Would love to see more from the "His Dark Materials" trilogy...
