kritter..try to put a vase with huge shade plant in the stair corner..this corner needs something..and the vase may solve it..or maybe a painting on the wall..becuase it is your image focus point!!!

Texture tiling's a bit evident, either spread it out, use procedurals, or get a tex pack with fewer distinguishing features. Other than that, very nice.
