Description

Two old timers. The DeHavilland Beaver, although nearly 60 years old, was, and remains the best bush plane in the world, and has flown in nearly every country in the world. In the glory days of logging, Campbell River was the busiest float plane base in the world. The skiff is a replica of a turn of the century row skiff, used for salmon fishing. A group of purists still use them, a salmon must be caught while rowing, using artificial bait, and must weigh over 30 pounds to be recognized by the Tyee Club. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

As always your insight to your photos always teaches me something I didn't know...eventhough I live relatively close. Great shot Jim...that Beaver looks in pretty good shape for 60 years.

This is great Jim, You sure are having a lot of fun with your new camera. I would love a flight in the De Havilland Beaver, or come to that even a row in the skiff. Beautiful country around you.
