Description

*He came while the night was young; he came while the first star was just starting to look out... He came and from the usual things he created magic; he came and what was normal became extraordinary. "who was he?" asked the little lady to a man who seemed not the simple one he told her to be. "He's the Knight of the Beauty around, the one who shapes what others can not even dream about. He has eyes that he opens wider than the others and he has senses that catch longer than the majority's fugitive forces. Rapahel used to say the artist gets inspired by Nature to make things Nature so should have made, then know he's an artist and no more, cos more would sound tame" and on her face a smile appeared, and borrowing it out as well he vanished. She waits since then for the fresh young night to come and let her see again the Knight who from nothing can mirror the supreme of beautiful realities around. She waits since then, and at night she composes rhymes to call him those ways she was banned at that time he revealed her all magic he chose to be for both arrow and bow... and following his example she always tries to catch what is so gorgeous that can't be named right by men.* --------------------- Pencil 2b, no postwork. The real is bigger, I cropped all the borders due to my scan size. The real is 25 per 35 cm. ----------------------- So this is the second of my Knights, that I was about to upload last week, but you might imagine why I didn't (I still thank all who have showed me deep affection for my loss.. THANK YOU). I guess everyone here MUST know this fabulous artist, and not only in 2D, but if you don't, let me introduce you Jean-Marc,aka jrulier. Where to start from with him... well, why not from the peculiar way I have expressed in this portrait my admire for him.For me, he's a wizard.A magical artist devoted to the searching for beauty, and capable to catch the sensual side of living like no one else. In his subjects, he can find a specialness that his sixth sense (his soul) firstly perceives. Before the eyes, his heart feels the chemistry of living, and the passion for it a real face expresses but often in secret ways to our unimaginative minds, and through a real situation of sensual codified stances he keeps telling us more than just "Look, this is a naked body".He always suggests us behind everything that's celebrating passion, it lies the essence of our presence on this planet, and the complexity of social interactions. He portrays what is the primordial, and eternal energy of sexuality with supreme elegance, and then he exalts and sublimates everything into a shape that so often comes so near to perfection that the viewer can just admire, but rarely gettin in its full quality, as the full quality of Jean-Marc's works is a mystery to the normal man.Still a voice keeps tellin us, those shivers we feels, either we are men or women, have a deeper meaning than the obvious guess we try for defining them. So, here is my praise for you dear Jean-Marc, and my thanx for inspiring me with every single one of your works. The horns.. are cos you and I are Aries, and I thought that was to underline ;) That quote of Rapahel is true, and it truely applies to you. You let us enter in a parallel Universe where Beauty seems everyone's normal state. But it's just an illusion the immense artistry of you gifts our eyes and souls with, and for this illusion, that is a pushing to greatness, I praise you and I will always do. I am honoured to have got to meet you here. And without you, this place for me could never look the same. And well, you're also in full like a blonde version of my friend Gulli, whom you portraited so well kissing his wife not a long ago:great people.. LOOK alike? I think so. Hugs. Meli :)

Yes Cassie my sweet angel :) the idea is to suggest with the flamboyant parts some of the elements he use. i see like.. he "throws" like a magic net from himself to the people he portrays these elements, like aura of magic around everything he mirrors :) okay.. i am mad ;) I hope he receives the original soon :)

The fact you feel yourself normal is even cuter dear :) Monet for all his life felt like a normal man who wasn't capable to really make good things. And all of us know how wrong he was there :) You can expect other than this.. well.. forever support and affection I guess :) and hopefully a quick delivery of your parcel :) You're special Jean-Marc. And you will see how many here think you are.And not only here. Kiss :) I am glad you liked my lil thing :)

I had to look at Jean-Marc's gallery after seeing this. I now see why you have chosen him as a knight, and feel embarrased for not noticing his works until now. His work is genius and masterful as your work and esp. this one. This sketch looks just like him too. I love what you did with it, kind of surreal. Take care -Peace :-)

I really like how you've incorporated JRulier's tentacles, it gives it a very personal touch. I like how you're kind of shying away from the rough sketch lines in this series and incorporate the more gracious linework. Supermegawow ;]

Very inventive work Meli, it wouldn't have been such a fitting dedication without paying reference to the Rulier Meshes :-) And definitely his work deserves an accolade such as this. Enjoy your weekend hon kisses :-)
