A great tribute to all the innocent civilians fallen under the fire of useless wars!

What did that nameless hero do? Massacred some cameljocks who couldnt defend themselves? Wait a minute... let me guess! He was struck by friendly fire? Or perhaps killed by a resistance sniper as he patroled invaded territory? I do not hate america, but since world war II when american soldiers defended freedom and liberated europe from the nazi regime and asia from the japaneese, there have been no american war heroes. Those who fight the wars of liars, poll manipulating wannabe presidents, religious fanatics or greedy corporations dont die as heroes any more than the goons of any other banana dictatorship around the globe. Besides the message, the image is very well executed. The style of art reminds me a bit too much of the military glorification in nazi germany and the soviet union, but besides that it is nicely done.

An extreme point of view, ShellShock. I dont think so. I think this is brilliant art and in can be interpreted in many ways. Just think about it and look closely! Here is an example: The fallen hero, burried under concrete under the jackboots of the military under the blinding light of media gloryfication and the american people, symbolized by the flag of the nation, kept blind behind by a line of bushes. Very subversive work. You can either perceive this as an honoring picture for the american heroes, or you can think of it as a symbol for those murdered in theyr names. Any way you see it, the soldiers that do theyr jobs and execute the orders given to them are always victims. They give theyr lives for a dream they believe in. If they are betrayed by politicians, it is not theyr fault. A good soldier does what he is told. Take the officers and politicians responsible, but not the men in the first line. Many of them just do a good job, or what they think is one. Given the obvious fact by your other comments around in the weapons genre that you seem like weapons so much, ShellShock, it is very strange to me how much you dislike soldiers. Excellent work. Keep rendering!

Good picture, though I think the F-14s were a bit much. The boots are a sybole of an Army grunt, where as the Tomcats repersent Naval airpower. With them in the picture the message becomes convoluted.

Although i object to your political message, this is an excellent render! An almost identical memorial actually exists in Nijmegen, Holland.
