The roaring air captured me, propelling my body backward, my arms flailing. The outer ridge of the intake spout was too smooth to find purchase and the manic attempt to stop my flight was in total vain. High pitched fluttering sounds mixed with the artificial wind rang in my ears as I slipped in through the tube, taking a deep breath while the waters surface rushed to greet me. SPLASH!!! I hit feet first and attempted to slow my descent but the flow was strong, pushing me down towards the bottom of the collection sack. After getting my bearings I somersaulted in this wet free-fall and kicked my feet hard. Maybe there is an air pocket on the surface? As I fought my way upward a shadow passed over me, I looked up and saw the dangerously inquisitive fly closing the distance between us.
