Description

"James Dean"...A brief history!... James Dean had one of the most spectacularly brief careers of any screen star. In just more than a year, and in only three films, Dean became a widely admired screen personality, a personification of the restless American youth of the mid-50's, and an embodiment of the title of one of his film Rebel Without A Cause. En route to compete in a race in Salinas, James Dean was killed in a highway accident on September 30, 1955. James Dean was nominated for two Academy Awards, for his performances in East of Eden and Giant. Although he only made three films, they were made in just over one year's time. Joe Hyams, in the James Dean biography Little Boy Lost, sums up his career. History found at JamesDean.com This is my first ever tablet-painted portrait. Referenced from several celebrity stock photos, I began with a cursory sketch brought it into PSP8 and then began to paint with my Wacom Intuos 2 tablet. What always seemed illusive to me, at least up until now, just seemed to flow onto the screen. The (tablet) painting was done entirely in PSP8. The background, frame, and eyes were also done in PSP8, along with some final touch-ups such as, ...soft focus and clarify and work on the frame itself. I hope you like it! Thank you so much for stopping by. Of course, your comments and critiques are always welcome!...Cheryl

Killer work dear friend! I bet you were beginning to think I had dissappeared for good since I have been gone so long. I'm back and very happy to have been able to view more of your wonderful work. The background work on this one is quite interesting to me Cheryl... great texture on all of the edges. Great job!
