Many thanks to those who voted this picture winner of the September Vue Challenge, and to the other contributors for making these challenges so fun :)
Actually, this picture has a story.
My wife has this bonsai tree at work that was supposed to be undestructible. Under the tree, a little character called Mr Managi, fishing in an imaginary river.
Within weeks, leaves started to fall from the tree. Mr Managi looked worried.
And sure enough, today Mr Managi is still fising under a dead tree. He doesn't look happy at all.
I tried to recreate his dream garden.
For the record, this was the longest render I have ever done with Vue - 89h with depth field blurring. I ended up doing the blur in photoshop instead because it would have taken more than 150h to get the quality I wanted from Vue.
