Happy will be the day when reparations to all those oppressed, in order to form the world's wealthiest (and need I say consumer(ing)-est) nation, are made.

Yup, their system of coordinates is one dominated by native self-preservation and resistance to foreign colonization. Thinking about "what happens to our society, its standard of living, oublic order etc. if we open borders" - I don't think that's even present on their radar screen... ;)
