Description

...as one series ends, I hope to inspire interest in a new series with this first image. The Temple Bell sits ...quietly...at the top of the forked paths that begin one's journey into the Morris Arboretum. One must make continual choices all along the paths that intertwine throughout the very large grounds here......It is something of an enigma, this bell, as it is without a clapper...yet there is a sense of sound nonetheless...when one touches any part of the bell, or runs one's hand over it's roundness, there is the quietest of pling-ringing...almost as if one were running their moistened fingertip round a crystal glass ..one must be very, very still to hear this sound......a wonderful way to begin this tour!!! Hope you enjoy this image and travel on with me......

Hmmm....well, I've always found your "nagging" to be more of a nudge, and always worth considering...Perhaps the lack of comments on this image indicates my postwork does not fit the mood of the piece for others as well... The postwork was intended to try to cause a pause, and a ponder. A clapperless bell.hmmm...clearly placed in a quiet, area, yet the quiet is immediately off a bright and loud entry area...the transformation is a bit of a startle...and sets the stage in a way for all that is to come.... I'm going to leave this posted as is, and welcome all other comments, as always!!!! Thanks, PapaG!

I love this shot. There is something primitive and basic about this bell, a sense of great age. Nicely done.

I've been so busy of late to check on Renderosity on a daily basis...however, this weekend I have given myself more freetime, and have back-tracked through your gallery to the beginning of this series. By the way...where is the Morris Arboretum? As for the postwork...I think if you shortened the brush strokes on the filter it would be more appreciated by others. I would like to visit this place someday so please tell where it is. I've enjoyed this series very much!!
