Description

Liquid Walls| I used to know someone who drew these kind of images, and I always liked that... it's kind of a sticky creature coming out of some liquid. Or, in this case, a liquefied shadow turning into a human being. Our personal space is important to us, even though we have "walls" around us, there's always a sense of paranoia. Everybody is so obsessed with themselves (which is completely normal) that they feel everybody is watching them. It's the egotistical view of the world... I am the world, the world is me. Syndroid

I am quite childlike in that the usual issue of personal space (the 18" zone or however big it is) isn't much of an issue to me and I rarely find myself that uncomfortable when someone invades my "personal space"; however the issue of paranoia is one I can relate to as much as anyone. Your words, particularly the last sentence, remind me of a Jah Wobble poem. Very cool work btw ;-)

I have always been aware of my personal space zone, and when someone invades it, it iritates me that I invaritably take a step back. Which of course causes me to reclaim that step in an act of defiance at their control of my actions. At which point, they usually take a step back in return, or if they don't, we both spend the time smelling each others bad breath up close. I once visited a museum of science and industry where there was a display centered around showing people's personal space zones and how it varies according to your nationality and where you live in the world. Your image is excellent.

The issue of personal space is an interresting thing. I am very sensitive there too, I specially notice it when i am on a bus or in crowded places. Like this image a lot, your letter background is beautiful, and I love that initial caps eye,and the face with its torn skin. It is as if it is as easy to tear our skin away as it is to tear off a bit of paper.
