Yes, the transparency is very interesting - it's the first time I've ever seen this in a stereogram. In the beginneing, it is a little bit tricky (at least for me) to get the figure fixed, i.e. to wait for the eyes to focus properly. But I'm better with parallel-view stereograms anyway. Maybe you should offer this type as an alternative, for a lot of people have more difficulties with the cross-eyed viewing...

Hi feltens - yes transparency is trickier if the shape isn't obvious. I learnt parallel-viewing first too, and only managed cross-eyed after Stan Hood started making them in XD! The trouble is, parallel requires the separation distance to be slightly less than the distance between your eyes, which is rather small and can't take account of screen size and resolution; so it really only works for single image stereograms. -Garth
