Description

::: Part 23 of a series of Warbird Photos ::: Taken at the Planes of Fame Museum on Chino Airport, California at the 'Air Power at Sea' Event. (10/4/03) This aircraft is a Vought F4U-1A Corsair. this aircraft has been in the museum's collection for a long time and just returned from a 6 month east coast (USA) airshow tour with the Museum's P-38 Lightning, F6F Hellcat, and P-40 Warhawk. This Corsair had a paint job change before the tour... it used to be a DARK blue color with a white diamond on the tail. They went for more of a 3 tone Pacific look, and because of this the more neutral blue colors make it easier to expose for the Corsair! Camera is a digital Minolta Dimage 7hi (5 MP). This image has been shrunk down to 33% of the original full size. Manual Focus, custom White Balance, Priority to Shutter mode (1/350 for prop blur), and custom contrast/exposure value settings to help in the harsh sunlight.

Wonderful series, I wish I had an airport like that close by. btw, I modeled a Corsair, but I thought the name was crossair.
