Description

This is my interpertation of the Chausey Islands, situated off the coast of Normany. The Bay of Mont Saint Michel is subject to some incredible changes in the level of tide at certain times of the month. When the tide is high, only a few islands are visible but when the tide goes out, many more algae covered rock islands are revealed along with their sand banks that gleam drying in the sun. Every minute brings incredible changes in light, in atmosphere. It is a paradise. This started as a study in textures. I wondered if I could make Kromekat's sand texture look it were drying in the sun, then tried some wet seaweed, then seaweed on rocks and so it goes. My first Vue Pro renderd with no post work. Shells by Ivar available in Free Stuff, Goelette: Alain Gracia, Seagull by Digital 1 in Free Stuff also.

Great mood - I can nearly hear the seagulls cry. I've been to Mont St. Michel a few years ago during vacation and I understand very well, what you're talking about. :)

Wow, you did an absolutely stunning job on this ... it looks so real and has such a wonderful feeling, from the seaguls to the ship, to the shells in the sand. Love the blue grey colors, and all the texturing looks amazing. Another top work of art ... another vote! CC

This looks almost like a watercolor painting - and a high quality one at that. Those rock and sand textures are outstanding. I think this is far and away the best of your postings I have seen. Excellent work and for me a clear vote winner.
