Description

Finally getting around to making my first gallery entry... This is a model of the "Grand Corridor" based on a reference image from SW:AOTC. One object (a cube sliced in half diagonally) was made with Blender to be an efficient boolean negative for the pillars, and a bitmap for the carpet was drawn with Fireworks. Other than that, this is totally Bryce modeled, procedure textured and rendered. The one fun little trick to point out is the rectangular patterns above the arches. These are projected onto the walls using rectangular parallel lights, set to have no falloff, and to not cast shadows. The result is that a single set of lights "paints" the pattern onto all the walls front to back. The other note is that the center light is red and negative, leaving a dark, greenish band that extends over several objects. Have fun.
