Description
I grew up in a world of glass,
Everyone seeing...
Everyone knowing...
Until one day I began to color upon that glass...
Reds of my Rage,
Green of my Envy,
Blue of my Sorrows,
Rainbows of my Joy...
I scribbled until I could no longer be seen in my glass world...
I shut everyone out.
Everyday the kaleidoscope of my life would change as I colored, seemingly never for the best, but not always for the worst...
One day I touched the glass, not with any color, but with my outstretched hand, seeking an answer to it all...
And the Fury, Pain, and Loneliness began to disappear like cold water cleansing the wounds
And behind that glass I now saw something new...
Not the world spying with spiteful eyes...
I saw
YOU.
Your face smiled in on me, and you held out your hand to me...
Suddenly my glass world began to crack and shatter, and the pieces began to fall down around me...
Leaving nothing behind to litter my world...
Leave only You...
And your hand warmly enclosing mine, and your soft words telling me everything would finally be alright...
And even now, after all this time...
I still believe you.

Marty, this is beautiful - it speaks to me in so many ways. I too understand about colouring glass walls... and of letting them fall... then finally seeing, finding something remarkably unfamiliar - home, in the heart of another. thanks for articulating it so very well.
