Very nice pic. The ship is from Starship Troopers, isn't it? But, it looks great.

Yes the ship is inspired by the "roger young" in starship troopers, and kier darbys "shitty death".

try making a black and white pannel map. make it with varying greys but keep them near the same hue, such as not going to close to black and not to close to white. Then use it in the Shininess map slot--- see this tutorial. it will make any ship look real cool. http://hippiesatemysangies.whoadude.com/discovery/aztec/
