Description
Theseus was the illegitimate son of King Aegeas of Athens. He was raised in ignorance of his status by his mother Aithra princess of Troizen until he was strong enough to face his destiny. His father had placed his sandals and his sword under a huge rock. If Theseus was strong enough to have the evidence of his heritage and present it to his father he would be accepted as an heir to the throne of Athens. (A story that brings in mind the sword and the stone theme.)
This interpretation of the myth was inspired by the writings of Mary Renault in the "King must Die" novel. Theseus after a hard time moving the rock he manages to lift it with a fulcrum that is described it to him by a travelling bard that had visited Britain and watched the making of Stonehenge (a solar temple- to Apollo?).
Credits: Terrain trees and grasses and Transpond Stones all from RDNA,
Theseus and his equipment from my upcoming package "Theseus and Minotaur".
