Description

What will the butterfly think of you when you have passed by? Is the world a better place for the butterfly (and all the rest of God's creation) for your having been here? I pray that from this day on, it will be. This is primarily a study in rust and metal textures, but I couldn't help turning it into what it is now. Vue 4 on a Mac; No postwork; Tree by zxcvb (http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=zxcvb); Butterfly by trillium36 (http://trillium36.com); All other models and textures by me. BountifulKnight.gif Comments and suggestions always welcome.

I give you an excellent for composition. I don't like the rust textures except for the really long silver pipe and the fat light grey pipe that has algae on it. Those two I really like the texture quality on. I think you would have really been able to fool someone with this picture if you did some postwork! The tree in the background is awesome as well as the cattail. Once again I give you an excellent!! good work keep it up. - Jeff

I like the ball, the long pipe lying down and the small standing one to the left. They look great! The other ones looks a little bit artificial. But great work!

Very thought-provoking image - great job on the concept and lightning! The rust textures might need some further work. Did you use a bump map on those objects. If you didn't you might give it a try, since this can improve your textures a lot.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. The long pipe was the main effect I was working on and they are not pic maps, they are Vue formulas so they can be applied over a series of objects without distortions (upcoming projects). The pipe actually has another layer just below the water where the rust actually has some jagged holes in it. The rest of the objects are mainly in-between stage tests to get feedback on. Thanks very much for that feedback! =)
