Description

I got fed up of xceiverx having all the animation fun with my ships, so here's an effort before I give him the model.

Another of his skills is getting great animations down below a half meg.

Way cool animation! :-) I really like the lens flare effect on the alternate version. You and Xceiverx may inspire me to try my hand at animating one of my ship designs one of these days . . .

Stand back everyone theres alot of moving parts! Awesome ship. Now tell me if you would, how did you keep the size of the animation the size it is now? the animation seems to run 5/6 sec. I always have to keep mine at 200/150 in size to be able to post it, and mine run 5sec. Color must have alot to do with it. Great Animation and Ship!!! I Do like the lens flare on the other one :)

Well, I agree with all the above, I'll have to start watching both of you. These animations are superb!!! I really love the layout of your ship models. I have a question for you, what are the sizes of your models. All of mine come weighing in at easily over 100 Megs. This in itself makes for an almost impossible animation render. My hats off to both of you guys!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at them, I'm not surprised your models get up over 100 meg. My latest is about 45meg, which is big enough. The animations actually render really quickly. This one took about ten minutes. AA is off and no texture and a real simple background helped all that. Check out this one to see three of my models bolted together. (about 60 meg model although the movie is about 1.5meg) http://www.gravity.force9.co.uk/movies/bigger.mpg The models are inspired, like yours, from 2001. This one more from 2010 with the external centrifuge. I'd love to see the Yorktown in an animation. Maybe even a tiny test untextured one. The other trick is getting the gif file under 512k. That's a real skill. Anyway, thanks for the comments. Phil
