Description

I've always wanted to try to get snow, and especially ice right. It's surprisingly hard I think. The light balance is tricky; snow looks white even in low light levels, which is hard to get right in Vue. So I tried using the "additive" effect, and played around with the refraction index, for the ice material, and it produces a nice, if not quite real, effect. I tried making waves for the whale but it went pear-shaped lol Thanks for viewing JoeBlack

I love your compositions. The clouds are perfect. As a suggestion for the ice you could try using the milky water material with a rough bump map. I've found that it looks like pretty good ice.
