Description

Do you remember this? The harvesters now have tinted glass domes with an operator in them. I finally got a texture scheme for the crystals that I was satisfied with. I found out you can't put displacements on transparent meshes.

I think displacements work like a bump map on imported meshes.. The other way you could go about it, is to make the crystals from MJW primatives, then use displacements..You won't get the same type of shapes you have now, but it might work.. Try using a sphere or cylindar, you can use transparent materials..Change the displacements to positive instead of negative..I'd suggest a voronoi basis for the displacements.. It might be tough to get the machines to hold them and look right, but give it a shot.. Some where I have an image where I made a moon from a cylinder...Same basic principal..Watch your Largest Feature and result scale on primatives..It takes some experimenting to get the scale correct..
