A song she sang to tell a tale Adventure made from fable It rang throughout the forest redoubt and angered beast of sable through field and tree her innocent glee charmed its way into the head Yet Troll Kings grumbled and Witches mumbled and from them the word did spread The beast it stirred in shadows curved for such a thing was it The birds flew out the fate in doubt our fair maiden's wit The beast it gathered strange shadows shattered to guide it on the way and so they traveled as all they battled was taken from the day And in her glen her harp did send a warning to its lover a slish, a slash they come to clash our heroine in danger She heard the tune and knew that soon her enemy would fast be here She draws rapier and shows no fear to dance along the razor now far away in heat of day a servant did a worry she feared the change yet heart said wait and helped them all to hurry for Ellendi struggled lost and befuddled And soon became quite woozy The heat of the day her breath took away and made her feel so snoozy The swarm lament Ellendi's spent When hound and boy appear Hound leaps away to right the astray and bring the friends all there a lovely house Without a mouse Although Harley would've been at home Water was drank For Ellendi had shrank But soon was right as rain And back we fly or is it ride to the glen of Eredain Creaking branch softened splash the trio came to glen The harp was strummed the bard did hum and waited for the three of them Into the fray they leapt that day calyndriel and shadows Unarmored she danced and leaped to avoid those mighty blows Rapier did sing and steel did ring the shadows soon dispelled But beast was more than deaf'ning roar unhurt by blades unspelled And Calyndriel in mood most fell knew not what she had wrought With bleackened claw red tooth and maw bete noire she fought bete noire mighty claw did land a fearsome blow green haired girl a scream unfurl went down into a hole that black beast awake from sleep crept ever and ever closer Until at last a friend did pass and ventured forth to aid her Hoof and spur a wild blur anew began the battle Bete Noire and shinitaur clashed as titans under the stars for neither be the others' chattel Blow by blow a wild row the pair were quite entrancing Yet Shinitaur who'd come quite far had not been merely prancing A journey's road and heavy load had made her quite the weary mouse elf to carry she'd promised Harley yet empty home had made her leery So hunting now she was so proud to make it on her own (For she had learned to not be turned from task when you're a roan) Bete noire that beast did roar as steel into it slid blood did flow the beast it moaned and fell before her dead The shinitaur (whose name was Parr) gazed on poor Calyndriel bruised and beaten poor bard defeated still had a tale to tell by gosh, by gum, and oh by golly what you need is magic holly spoke the mighty Parr Come along, ride with me through the sands of Carramee and lifted up the bard There I hear you'll find amend though not, I hope, the story's end and so they rode afar...
