I checked out the other version with the filters, and this is much better. Good work. I love Photoshop, especially with Eyecandy and other plugins added, but it can't do everything well. And one thing it doesn't do very well is simulate painting.

As one who lives on the south-western seaboard on a Pacific Ocean Inlet where Orcas are frequently seen stopping off on their migratory runs - you have captured this whale beautifully Christine. His eying out the distant penguins adds an element of realism to this well executed render. I did look at the first posting of this image and although the former resembles a painting to a certain degree - the line fragmentation does more harm than good. You are working with 3D software and the reason it's called 3D is because of it's ability to render realistic 3 dimensional scenes and imagery - don't try to imitate a 2D painting as what you have here is far far superior. 2D artists continually strive to achieve a 3D appearance - thus - having a professional 3D artist like you try to emulate 2D is not a great achievement, it's a step backwards. This is positively beautiful Christine.
