I like the starkness of this. The colours and light all add. And the water looks a little frightening to me - like something huge is moving just under the surface. Is it supposed to look like that? Very nice

Yes, the water is supposed to give that effect. See the next pic 'Careless Succubus' for an expansion of the idea of something under the water.
