Description

Digital Photo. The full name of this mission is: San Juan de Capistrano. No swallows. The building to the left is the one that the doorway (next image) leads into. The unusual double wall (foundations only) is a result of the protecting wall having fallen down or being 'quarried' for its stone. These foundations, and outer wall, were actually the quarters of Indian converts who lived and worked at the mission. Most of the perimeter walls were such quarters or barracks for the soldiers if any were assigned duty there. Gotta luv that 'big ole' tree in the middle. ;-) Enjoy, and thanks for viewing.
