Description
For Meli...
I don't know anyone on Renderosity
who has more portraits in some form
or other, but I do think I know
why...Meli is the most loving and
compassionate person to ever grace
our lives. She moves us to be the best
we can be because she asks no less of
herself. I do not know if this portrait
is as beautiful as the person...I can
only hope it reveals how blessed we are
to have her in our lives.
I began this portrait during the time of
her loss. I, as most all of you, had the
desire to help her through that time. I
hope this work brings her a measure of
peace...Cheryl
There was an initial sketch outline done
with H, HB pencils. I then took my
sketch and brought it into PSP8 where
I spent a number of hours working on
fleshtone, hair and dress. The dress
color and texture was accomplished by
first applying the brown and then an
overlay of gold at 36% opacity. There
was a soft focus applied, matting modified
with additional color and texture, photo
frame, many tries of working with the
the many tools of PSP8 and my wacom
tablet, and the roses (a picture tube)
which she richly deserves.

this is amazing. And my adored Cheryl, your words are straight caressing me inside. I don't deserve all your care, I don't feel like I do anything special at all here to deserve such attention and such love from people as adorable as you. I give love, cos I know how important is to receive it, and I know it cos love is hwat saves me everyday. your words, your poem... has for me an importance that I can't explain, cos it's beyond my little skill to explain how precious this gift from you is. And you pictured me awesomely. Thank you angel. You're someone whom I always look at to learn how to live :) You know this froma longtime. Thank you. Love you

You simply could not have chosen a better subject Cheryl... she really IS amazing isn't she? In this drawing you seem to have captured an innocent quality that is so much a part of her many faceted personality... wonderful!

I have only recently come to know of Meli - in fact - she commented on two of my paintings just as I was leaving Renderosity and dedicated "No Ugly Duckling" to all my friends here. I have visited her Web Site but only saw very small images of her, so I cannot say if you've captured her likeness - but I can say that you have definitely portrayed the inner beauty that this woman manages to convey to those around her - either of a personal nature or through these galleries. Meli has a personality that seems almost delicate - like a butterfly's wing - and as soft and precious as the down of a goose. Your art has taken on a whole new dimension lately Cheryl - rendering from deep in the heart of your psyche - don't lose it, it suits you.

This pulls at the viewer who must tug to get away ensnared by the sticky substance that emerges from the frame. Yes I have tried to make a newsletter mockup with rubber cement only to have it surmounted by the professional method of dipping in wax. So this tests the eye of the viewer for accuracy in bonding.
