Description

...He'd probably attack the north as a diversion, bring two divisions of marines in from the south, and capture Baghdad. That crazy, war-mongin' King of Bruise...er...Jews. Thanks to the US Army for the wonderful picture.

I learned a new word today: "sophistry." Basically, it refers to a deliberately invalid argument designed to see whether anyone is gullible enough to be sucked in by it. I wonder if that word has any application here? Hmmm...

Your description of that war tactic is very similar to the attack that will be waged by the "Man of Perdition" on Jerusalem in the last days of this earth. Satan cannot win, he can only drag as many as he can into the lake of fire with him. Change your mind, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

There is more truth in your words and picture than you probably suspect. This image probably offends most people - but the Bible tells of two cities: Jerusalem, and Babylon. It follows the story from very early on. Babylon was always the bully to Jerusalem, God's chosen city for His earthly Kingdom. Before Jesus walked the earth, there was already plenty of prophecy about the Messiah. He was to be the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah": an image of great ruling might. He was to relieve Jerusalem from its tortured and subservient condition. This part of the prophecy is yet to be fulfilled, and Jesus is coming again. By the way, the city of Babylon (as restored by Saddam, in its original location) is practically walking distance from Baghdad, and it has been preserved through both gulf wars, and through the continuing violence in Iraq. What do YOU think its fate is? I will let you make the connections..

Livin 4 Jesus I was going to point out the actions Christ took when he saw the temple being profaned. LOL Those who think that Christ was some wishy washy, liberal, handing out flowers at the airport harry krishna type peacenik, 1) have never read a bible 2) are in for a real rude awakening. Since you already made some excellent points livin, I will point out that the book of revelation says that Christ will rule with a rod of iron. Showing clearly, that he's not all mr. nicey nice.

What the fundies appear to missing here is the irony that a society run by Christian fundamentalists, whose believes are, supposedly, based on a man who preached and practiced non-violence, is so incredibly violent.

"The things of God are foolishness to those who are perishing" Very sad, but very true.

The bible this, the bible that...GUESS WHAT, the bible was written by MEN! NOT GOD! last I heard the only text written by God was the ten commandments!! God's top 10 rules to live by, which make sense to me. Every version of the bible was written by man, and therefore a work of mythology, with some history tossed in! mostly done by kings, or the catholic church, to serve their own agenda! God, and Jesus, I'm sure, are disgusted, and embarrassed, with mans pathetic interpretation of their will. Personally I live a good life, and do not fear "The lake of fire", but I do not pay heed to the ramblings of man made texts, and call it the word of God.(1 Digimon 1: 10,42)

I was going to point out Revelation, quite possibly the most violent book ever written, certainly the most violent in the Bible. ROFL this is so funny and quite true I think. Well done!
