Good to see you try your hand at coloring your stuff. Instead of digitally "painting" (which is an art unto itself) you may want to try out the more conventional comic style coloring technique: select area, fill color, merge using "multiply" for shading, and "inverse of multiply" for hilights. There are many tutorials on the net for this.
