Description

This scene was rendered in Vue d'Esprit 3. The stautue is 'Fayt" from Styxx, for Poser 4. ( it is a great figure, thanks Styxx!) I call this one "Forgotten Hero'. Once a proud monument, it is now left alone in a deserted town. No one sits on her benches anymore. No one visits her. Solitude is all she knows. The Bridge, houses and tower were freebies I picked up a while ago. If anyone can claim them, please let me know so I can post proper credit. This is my 5th attempt at creating a 3d scene, so all input is welcome.

This is an exceptional image. The entire concept, lighting, texturing, and posing is superb! My only suggestion wouold be the dry bush that is growing through the statues right shin(?) guard. I think it needs to be moved under or away from it...and the moment it looks like it is growing straight through it? Not sure why you have those mini tables / steps in front of her...they dont harm the picture in any way..but to me they look slightly out of place. Having said all that...I still think you piece is exceptional. My suggestions are only small, and more nit picky than fault finding. I look forward to seeing your next image.

Thanks again for the kind words Sacred Rose ( and thank you Maetoch, as well) :) I agree about the bush. That and the shield need to be fixed so they do not look like they are coming out of the statue. As for the benches, my friends said the same thing. I, personally, do not like them. I put them in to try to give perspective to the statue. When I made the image with out them, a friend thought that the statue was human sized and the bridge was far too small, when in reality, the statue is meant to be very large. Any suggestions as to how I can give proper perspective here, without my icky benches? Thanks for the responces, you two rock!! :) --Eryk

thank you, Mr. Brap. Memories of Kinsfield, aye? I have never played it before, but as it is a playstation game ( and not an atari 2600 game ) that the scene reminds you of, I will take that as a huge compliment. :)

A truly wonderful image! It really makes me feel sad. I have always loved art that sparks some kind of emotion in me, even a negative one. This is a powerful image. I am very happy that you like Fayt. She was a joy to make :)

Styxx, thanks very much. Hearing that this image brings out any emotion in the person that created the awesome Fayt, is truely inspirational to me. Thank you for the comment.

exelent picture. I love the composition. BTW you asked me how I made the picture "alone in the dark?" it's all made in photoshop, using a drawing pad.
