Description

It had been a hard-won battle. Not that Phoebus Cat had expected to lose! But they had grown bold and fearless over the years, and he was not exactly a spring-kitten anymore. Yet, this victory belonged to him. The night was his. For now, he was content to return home to his spot by the fireplace and his can of tuna. He would have loved to tell them about his deeds, how he had kept the neighborhood safe one more night... but it wasn't like his humans would ever understand. Poor, simple-minded creatures! They didn't know, didn't see what was lurking out there. But he did. And he would make sure his family stayed protected. Tomorrow, the others might win. But not tonight. For tonight, the other Toms were defeated.
