This render succeeds in transmitting the forlorn feeling of ancestral abandonment - a period of history of times gone by. The image creates a genuine feeling of a past irrecoverable. This thought is present in both the scenic backdrop as well as in the ruins in the foreground. Both are enhanced by the sheer absence of life of any kind - even the two foreground trees are barren - with the only hint of life being found in the grasses growing on the terrain. I love the great vastness of depth created by the misted distances - expertly done Ken.
