Description
I stand before the gates of death
Behind me an ancient tale
A saga I know far too well
Lost within the depths of time
My spirit resides... within
A swirl of pain and greatest joys
The world around me now is lost
And I remember the times
Which now I yearn for
I remember the day when by another
I was called a hero
To another I was a saint
To others still an Angel of high domain
And I look back and see
That each of those I have wronged
My life still yearning to make things right
Even in death I wish to be
What I never truly was...
For each whom I helped I harmed...
As a hero I caused pain
As a saint I was the definition of corruption
As the angel I am the demon who before me...
Now stares within my soul
And so I stand before the gates of death
And I rebuke the fates
Yet I am restored
Not by my own hands
But by those who
I so deeply wronged
I was once a hero and a saint
But still as an Angel I remain fallen.
