Description
This image was inspried while standing in an alleyway behind the Oriental Theatre in Chicago. It is not a duplicate of what I saw, just a montage of things around.
All of the objects and textures were created by myself for this project. The brick wall is 100% SLA, with only the dirt near the bottom being a painted texture. The pavement is also 100% SLA. Most other textures were done in BodyPaint or Photoshop.
It's not meant to make you think or to be a story, it's just what it is. Mostly because I like modelling old, rundown-looking scenes.

It's beautiful work surely, I think, however, some more light in the dark areas is better. Bravo and my vote!

Great work. Darkly lit renders are really hard to do well... this is very successful!

Thanks for all the comments! This was my first gallery posting even after using C4D for almost 2 years! I had the worst time deciding lighting for this scene...I went with everything from bright sun to just clouds (I ended up in between). I really like the "just cloudy" lighting, and may post that one day, but it was even darker and moodier. :)

Beautiful lighting and composition. Only nitpick is that the kind of stencil paint you'd see on metal rollup doors doesn't run with time or moisture. Paint is typically a suspension of pigment flakes in a carrier designed to dry fast to an almost ceramic-like substance. It can bleach, wear away, even chip, but it only melts when harsh alkaline stripping agents are applied and left there to soften the carrier. Pollution is more usually acid than alkaline (base). Apologies for nitpicking; everything else is great esp. the garbage bag.
