Description

Earlier this year I was watching the 1960 MGM movie version of H. G. Wells 1895 classic The Time Machine with British actor Rod Taylor one of my all time favorites followed shortly thereafter by the 2002 Dreamworks version of the movie. Being a an artist, I was inspired to create a model of the 1960 version of the Time machine.

Your model was instantly recognizable before reading any of your description. Great eye for the details on this 1960's version.

One of my all-time favorite movies too! You've done an excellent job of modelling this classic Sci-Fi machine.

I saw the original movie too last summer... Was quite good for the time it was made... like the other movie WAR OF THE WORLDS ! I suggest you try to add some more shadow effects that might be created by the pipes or console. Try add a direct light with ray tracing shadows and make the overall light some darker... this will bring life to the picture by adding more contrast, in my opinion. But don't worry, I am just trying to help you make something already good even better ! Good work !

TheGreatGrizz, I thank you for your time and effort in forming your comments to this piece but this image is a quick and dirty "see what I've been working on lately", highly compressed (44kb jpg) throw together image which to my surprise made first placing in the 3D Studio Max Hot 20 list for several days up until recently. But the real intended destination of this model was the final Bryce composite image, which also made the Bryce Hot 20 list and can be viewed here;

The image has also received the recognition of a popular Internet web site The Time Machine Project and can also be viewed here;

Thank you for your time.
