Description

Materialism preys on so many of our human frailties: Greed, gluttony, pride, vanity, etc. Our society seems to thrive on our desire to have more and more. So much so that we drown in empty symbols of validation. Expensive cars, big houses, jewels, furs, stuff on top of stuff. We suffocate our souls with "things" and in return, we willfully deny ourselves the one true breath we need. I had the idea for this image when I was working on "Astral Illusion", when at one point she looked like she was being smothered by strands of pearls. So, yeah...the technique used here will be like a flashback for those who remember that piece. :) Digitally painted in PSP.

it's quite cool :) expressive and creepy, despite the quite light colours and all the "stars". I love that contrast between appearance and meaning.

caught in materialsim... and at the same time somewhat comfortable bedded inside all this "fluffy" and soft constituents of materialsm...
