Description

this is from a little wwII animation where this nice lil scene gets blasted the crap out of in an air raid, making this actually brought my pc to its knees, pretty much everything in the scene is dynamic and affected by the bomb blasts (even the smoke left from previous blasts now billows out of the way). i`ll try n put it up in the anim gallery when rendered as its quite spectacular (especially when the little wooden structure in the forground gets hit!). im currently baking most of the heavier simulations to keys before my pc dies. hope to have it done and rendered by around tuesday.an alternate version of this (much better IMO) can be found on my site http://flak3d.topcities.com/kaboom.htm comments welcome...

This looks bloody brilliant. Is the animation going to be available for a peek? Fingers crossed for the PC to live long enough to finish

cheers, it will eventually be posted either here or on my site. i dont really like the clean rendered versions above. my personal fave version can be seen here http://flak3d.topcities.com/kaboom.htm it makes a much better still but with all the postwork it`d be qa pig of an animation.

wow!!it is really good!!I expecially like the realism of the explosion and the foam in the water..the only thing I dont like is the bump on the water..the rest is excellent!

Very nice! The level of detail is great. My only critique is the water. Knowing Maya and the oceanshader, the water could be definately better. But maybe this was intended by you due the low power of your pc. :) And I'm also looking foreward to the animation. ;)

ocean shader? i used maya 4, i have no ocean shaders/fluid dynamics., the water was just a blinn shdr with a bit of a bump and some big waves from a turbulence field. my pc really is struggling with the anim though, just looked at my performance thingy i have 4meg left out of 2gig ram!!!

Great stuff Flak. I've been gone a few months, but you have definitely been a busy boy. I took a trip to your site...fantastic. I finally got my DSL up and running, so you can expect to hear and SEE from me a lot more (hopefully). Keep up the great work, and I'll be looking for a,link to this animation. :)
