Description

I was fascinated by a picture of Yosemite Valley I lately saw in a book. So I decided to make this image. Hope you like it. Your comments are very welcome (maybe suggestions for improvement). Large trees are based on Thomas Krahn's Conifer (thank you very much!) - the rest is created by me in Vue d'Esprit 4. Thank you for viewing and have a nice day ;-)

The clear atmosphere is sharp as winter air, the middle ground snow texturing is excellent. Fine image.

I have not the equipment to explore your landscape it is so cold ! From where I stand I can observe that further river bank is superbly realistic!

Thank you all for your kind comments. I tried to get close to the original picture (as close as possible for me - I'm still learning...). Now I'm looking out for another beautiful landscape somewhere in the world. "Nature is the greatest artist!"

This just gave me a flashback to early childhood. Near the end of WWII, we offered hospitality (such as it was then!) to an American airman who was posted locally in Britain. He gave me a present of a stereo photo-viewer with some photo disks of home, mostly from Yosemite and Yellowstone which were unlike anything I'd ever seen and beame a treasured possession for several years. The contrast between the crisp, white snow and the deep blues of the water and the sky are very reminiscent of those images. Excellent work, and thanks for sharing.
