Description

A study in greyscale for terrain and lattices, and I'm trying to develop a 'blue spring steel' texture, and other industrial textures. This is a Bryce recreation of an actual geared clock I welded together for an art show in Aspen, during my early metal sculpture days.

I'm branching out, I've always been fascnated by antique and aged things, so this is the first in what I hope to be a series of deteriorated industrial images. And I just love rust to no end, don't know why just do...:)

Wow, this is really good, first thing that came to my mind was: looks like an old swiss made clock :) I like the rust a lot, looks worn but still strong enough (hope this makes sense)

Great job on the lattice work--an area I haven't become comfortable with yet. And, the texutres are top notch. Excellent render!

This is excellent Zhann, I too love antique anything, and the materials you've used here make the clock look seriously antique. It must have taken an age to model, I really admire your patience. 8)

Ahh..., terrains and lattices as I like them most; beautifully done and textures are superb. One minor suggestion, if you use the smooth/erode function of the terrain editor, the surface will look less bumpy.

I can appreciate your interst in blue spring steel. As an abstract it could appear on cast or forged gears brazed or welded with special nichrome rod. I once searched the tack shops for "spring brass." I found it at a machine shop in Fort Pierce. rivet! rivet does any one hear a frog?
