Description

At the ancient times the most famous of all Greek oracles was the one of Delphi at central Greece. The hi-priestess named Pithia, used to breath smoke from the burning leaves of laurel (some claims different but...), she felt in ecstasy and then she spoke the oracle of the god of sun Appolo to everyone asked for it. All great Greek generals, politicians and kings had a great respect for it. Sometimes even the great Persian kings have asked for the favour of gods through the words of Pythia. The ruins of this temple are still at the place of Delphi... ---------------------------------------------- Hope you all like this picture and please excuse my sort history lesson. I coulda sworn that she had an apitheatre rather than a temple, but I looked it up and Hey! there was an apetheatre at delphi but it had nothing to do with her... So thanks for correcting a mistake. Wonderful render though, Beautiful mats, I marvel at your walls, and I love that bronze vase... I recently went to England and saw their plentiful gallery of vases at the British museum.

'so if they build a wall of wood, the Persians will fail? (one of the more famous oracles..;) Supposedly the gasses from a subterranean fracture made for the wild words..almost got to go there, but missed out.
