Description
I used 3D Studio Max 6.0 along with video post to moodel and render this scene. Im a bit out of practice, but I would apreciate the feedback/ constructive criticism.
Thanks.

Nice Work!

Looks like you did a very good job on the handle, but I think the blade looks a bit "solid". It is kinda hard to tell with the blade being so short in these pics... all in all, though, the image texture is great!

If there is anything that I could do to make this better, or ideas for a scene please feel free to layout any suggestions. The more input the better. Thanks again.

First, you should have put a preview thumbnail so anyone could see this great work. I almost missed it since there was no thumbnail. Second, the handle look great, don't touch it. Third, your surface on wich the handle is on, is a bit too blurried. Maybe you used a map surface... Anyway, I suggest you use a high resolution fractal noise map (or something similar) to increase it's sharpness. If you wish for something less computing, try just add a simple bump map. Maybe something like an orange texture... And finaly, the laser itself might look to much like a neon I think. Maybe it is due to the radiosity level of the light, or because it is son concentrated in the center, or too opaque. I don't know exactly. I think that a laser light is so concentrated and unidirectional light that it should not emit so much radiosity on it's side. Keep in mind that I really love the laser look and the handle, but I am not shure if the match together to form a Star Wars weapon ! Don't be disapointed, I give you a 8.0 on this. Just increase the sharpness of the surface floor and you will get a 9.0 / 10 ! Way better than I ever did anyway... and of course I kept this picture in my favorite 3d gallery folder on my desktop. ;-)
