Description

I wanted to do some B&W renderings with my new Veronica Hair, so I thought I'd knock off something quick. You all know how that goes! I threw a sheet over a chaise lounge and put her in one of Marck's dynamic dresses. After numerous crashes in the Cloth Room, I gave up and put her into Phil's good old conforming fantasy wrap instead. Then when I got the backlight the way I wanted it (small spot at 1000%), I had to put a square of "cardboard" behind her back to block the backlight from glaring through under the figure. What I wanted here was to get a painterly effect with the satin textures. This is an unretouched Firefly render, with just some glare etc. courtesy of KPT Equalizer. There's only five lights ... one fill light from camera viewpoint with shadows off for "ambient" effect. I used the same material on everything. ... It should have been quick!

Consider yourself lucky to have someone like me comment on your image. I am a huge fan of the 1940's and 50's style b/w photos and this IMO, is an excellent attempt at capturing the feel of that era. Your characters likeness to Ms. Lake is striking, the pose is perfect for those types of photos that were taken then. Oh and the hair looks good too!
