Description

Is it some sort of strange alien artifact? Who knows... Some of you math-type geeks may recognize it though... Yeah, it's a small section of Pinwheel Aperiodic Tiling under a spherical transformation! Yay! Tile the plane with a 1-2-(5^1/2) right triangle aperiodically, use the fill gradient tool to make it seem like the tiles are tilted at wonky angles, then use a spherical transformation! It's that easy! Oh, then make a circuit board type design with the same tiling but without the transformation, and adjust the layers until you get the desired effect. Took me all of oh, an hour and a half of experimentation.
