Description

Andromeda, a Greek princess, is tied to a stake next to the ocean as an offering to the monster of the deep. Perseus has yet to arrive. Late as always. ********** Thanks, DAZ, Danae, lemog, Varian, Filip, forester ********** Vue 4 Professional This started as another attempt at lighting; how to have a sunset-type of image and still have enough illumination of the subjects so they could be seen. Just kind of evolved from there! Had not used the Hydra yet, and once he found his way into the pic, everything else followed. Thanks, as always, for looking!

If you are aiming for realism, the lighting is distracting since it is in more than one place at the same time. There is a visible sun in the back-right, and another light source in the front-left, yet another apparently in the front-lower-middle. I'd suggest moving the sun out of visible range and turning it so it comes from the fromt-left - then the sunlight will be the main illumination on the scene itself. You can then add low-level gentle shadowless fills where needed to accentuate the hydra's features, Andromeda's face, etc.Critique aside, cool scene, good take on the mythos, nice water splashes, too. :)

Great monster!! The splashes are cool and she looks properly terrified. She'd better flatten herself out a little more before the monster strikes, or tear herself free.

Another really different image. But great one as well. I think the light is very good, maybe just a little to bright. I like higher contrasts to be honest. But that is my very personal feeling. The comosition and poses are damned good!

I was so fascinated by the action going on, I didn't notice the lighting! (I have also never seen the Hydra close up... wow!) Perhaps the light in front is coming from a fire set to attract the hydra to the sacrificial offering?

Of course it takes some time to sharpen the loong sword... but surely Perseus won't leave Andromeda in such a predicament! good work as always!

Hmmmm... Could use a bit of lemon pepper seasoning. But at least there is no armor on this one. I hate it when all that metal gets stuck in my teeth. :::toothy grin:::: Good job.
