Description
Created in Photoshop from a scanned photograph.Used the "smudge" tool with a Dry Brush setting to create the impression of brush strokes (took AGES!). Then on several different layers, I applied filters such as "Paint Daubs" and "High Pass" to further enhance the brush stroke effect. Then applied a layer mask, filled with a solid colour for the canvas colour, and painted on the mask in black to reveal the image beneath. Finally filled a blank layer with 50% grey (in overlay mode) and applied the canvas texture.
I'd really appreciate feedback especially with regards to how light / dark the image appears on others monitors....it's SO frustrating to find that an image that looked just right on one's own monitor, actually appears much too dark or light on other peoples!
Anyhow hope you enjoy it!
Cheers,

It looks great on my monitor. The shadow under her chin is almost black and her teeth and eyes are just a few shades short of white. Very realistic skin color, great brush strokes, looks very much like an oil painting, and overall a really nice portrait.

It's little dark in contrast - meaning the dark is fine but the light wants to be lighter by a very small amount. You might want to add white spot overlays to bring gleam to the eyes, earings, lips, teeth, and necklace. This is great showing her pretty imperfections.
