Description
I created the chess set (inc board) in Cinema 4D CE. It's my first serious attempt at modelling. All comments are welcome. As the software is crippled as far as image resolution output is concerned, its difficult to get a good idea of what the pieces look like close up in this image. I hope to upload a close-up tomorrow.

I like this one. I myself am a member of a chessclub, and I like to see someone working on the subject. I like the way you modelled it, only the horse could use some touch ups, it looks abit wacky to me. Also the board is abit thick, don't you think? But anyway, It's very nice!

Thanks for the comments. I used to play a lot of chess and have just started again... trying to teach my kids.. a slow job! My standard is now below average due to being out of practice. My greatest moment was playing Nigel Short, the UK Grandmaster when we were both still at school. He beat me of course-he was brilliant even then! As for the knight, your right. I'm wrking on a better version at the moment. This was my first serious attempt at modelling something 'for real' and it shows. However, it took me only 1/2 day or so to do the whole thing, so I'm sure I can improve on this effort. As for the board, the idea is to eventually add a surrounding container of worked leather, just like one of my sets. Hence the depth.
