This image was started for a Renderosity Vue d'Esprit Halloween contest. Sadly, technical problems with importing Victoria 3 into Vue d'Esprit 4.2 made it necessary to find a workaround. As a result, I wasn't able to finish this render by the contest deadline. But having missed the date, I opted to take my time working on the details. So, at long last, here it is. This image was inspired by a Halloween vampire poem I wrote a number of years ago about a vampiress who stalks a would-be lover in a cemetary. The poem, "Tea Among the Stones", lent the title to this render. "Dogwood leaves turn brown, dropping in turns to blanket the graves with brittle bedsheets. Yet this is not death, this is retirement; quiet in a skeletal neighborhood where time delivers its pension of decay like mail."
