The really interesting thing about this is the shadow image in the back. While most of us put on a neutral face to meet the world, concealing our real feelings, this person displays how she really feels. Only in the distance can we see the whole person she can or sometimes is. Nice work.

Good image for the idea. I tend to think of it interms of a secret self, or selves rather than hiding. I suppose we tend to put the one we consider the most palatable out in front. The one behind her is the show one ? Something painful about this. Well done.

Very true concept. I like the idea of tarnished...something that happens over time. Little by little things take their toll. Great work!

the timeless question.. well, everyone is, no matter the best intention, we hide part of us and show part of use strategically, even not willing it. It's the adaptive skill which made human so successful. A skill, but so many times a tricky condemn. Wonderful work dear.. wonderful.

Wonderful work! I love the unmasked self in the background. We can hide under light or dark masks.

I am constantly amazed at your art. I know I'm repeating words that others have used before me, but this is thought-provoking, expressive, and emotional. You give something for the viewer to really think about. Incredible, as always.

Barbara, I think at one time or another we all hide within ourselves, It's within our nature, either by ourselves or with someone, to conceal any hurt or pain that may be put upon us convincing ourselves it will go away eventually, What do you do when it dosn't go away,go deeper within ourselves, and I believe your creativity shows very well how deep it can really be.
